6/5 8:22 AM PT -- 6/5 -- Bills OC Brian Daboll spoke about Fromm's status with his teammates, saying "He knows that he has a lot of work to do to earn the trust of his teammates back and I'm a big believer in actions speak louder than words so I know he'll be committed to that."
He continued ... "We have a strong leadership group, a strong culture in our room. Jake is a young man who has apologized. Where we go moving forward, he's got a lot to do to earn the trust and confidence of the players and everyone else in the building back. And, I know he'll work hard to do that."

1:44 PM PT -- The Bills have released a statement on Fromm's texts ... saying "Earlier today, we became aware of comments made in a text message conversation involving Jake Fromm in 2019," the team said.
"He was wrong and he admitted it to us. We don’t condone what he said. Jake was honest and forthcoming to us about the text exchange."
The statement continued ... "He asked for an opportunity to address and apologize to his teammates and coaches today in a team meeting, which he did."
"We will continue to work with Jake on the responsibilities of being a Buffalo Bill on and off the field."
12:45 PM PT -- NY Jets star Jamal Adams is NOT here for Fromm's apology calling out the QB -- as well as Drew Brees -- for missing the mark.
"You and Drew aren’t really sorry," Adams tweeted. "Save the bulls**t ass apologies. The truth just came out, and you two aren’t the only ones!"
Important to note -- Fromm's Bills teammate, Tre White, retweeted Adams' message.
Buffalo Bills rookie QB Jake Fromm is owning up to text messages about "elite white people" that were made public this week ... apologizing for the comments and vowing to help fight racism.
A text exchange from March 2019 was made public Wednesday night ... with Fromm saying, "guns are good" and adding "Just make them very expensive so only elite white people can get them haha."

While the validity of the texts were in question, Fromm admitted to the comments on Thursday ... apologizing and saying he addressed the situation with his teammates in a meeting.
"I am extremely sorry that I chose to use the words 'elite white people' in a text message conversation," Fromm said on Twitter.
"Although I never meant to imply that I am an 'elite white person,' as stated later in the conversation, there's no excuse for that word choice and sentiment."
"While it was poor, my heart is not. Now, more than ever, is the time for support and togetherness and I stand against racism 100%."
"I promise to commit myself to being a part of the solution in this country. I addressed my teammates and coaches in a team meeting today and I hope they see this incident is not representative of the person I am."
"Again, I'm truly sorry for my words and actions and humbly ask for forgiveness."
Fromm was picked by the Bills in the 5th round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He was a star at Georgia, throwing for 78 TDs in his 3 seasons as a Bulldog.
